We, Members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union,

Having assembled at the Fifteenth Meeting of Women Parliamentarians in Bangkok on 27 March 2010,

Noting that gender inequality and violence against women and girls remain endemic in every society without exception,

Convinced that the problem can only be solved by strong determination and sincere cooperation among people throughout the world regardless of their gender,

Also convinced that the attainment of gender equality and the elimination of all forms of violence against women will result in peaceful societies and a better world for all,

Call on parliaments and their members throughout the world to ensure that every effort is made to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls in every sector of society.
