Democracy Call for observance of the International Day of Democracy
Stressing the continuing need to promote democracy, development and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, the United Nations General Assembly at its 62nd session decided to observe 15 September each year as the International Day of Democracy.

UN Headquarters Hearing at UN
New York Hearing sets new milestone in IPU-UN relationship
The Annual Parliamentary Hearing at the United Nations was held on 20-21 November 2007 in New York and attracted a record number of over 200 parliamentarians. The high attendance marked a new beginning for the Hearing, as the first to be organized jointly with the United Nations.
