  Mode of designation of members
PARLINE database

PARLINE recognises three possible modes of filling parliamentary seats: by direct election, indirect election, and appointment. Sometimes these modes are used in combination. The others category corresponds to situations when information is not available.

Please note that the data refers to the statutory number of seats. In cases where the current number of seats filled is different from the statutory number, an explanatory note has been added.
