PARLINE database

PARLINE recognises three groups of electoral systems: Majority (including First Past the Post, Alternative Vote and the Two-Round system), Proportional and Mixed (which combine elements from majority and proportional systems).

The Others category includes a number of situations, and particularly parliamentary chambers whose members are appointed or indirectly elected. This is notably the case of certain second chambers of bicameral parliaments.
