	Central America carries a violent and painful past which, in old and new forms, continues to rear its ugly head despite the existence of long-standing agreements aimed at tackling its causes and consequences. The seminar in El Salvador, part of IPU's efforts to help post-conflict countries to advance on the road to reconciliation and democratization, provided an opportunity to take stock of the remaining challenges with a view to inciting further parliamentary action.
