Use of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) website, www.ipu.org and all pages in this domain (collectively, the “IPU website”), constitutes acceptance of these terms of use.


All material on webpages under the domain ipu.org is, unless otherwise stated, the property of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Restriction on Use of Information on the IPU website

The information on the IPU website or extracts thereof may be displayed, reproduced or translated for research or personal use but not for sale or for use in conjunction with commercial purposes. Any use of information from the IPU website should be accompanied by an acknowledgment of IPU as the source, citing any copyrighted materials.

Reproduction or translation of materials from the IPU website, or any use other than for educational or other non-commercial purposes, requires prior authorization in writing. The unauthorised use of the IPU name and logo is expressly forbidden. Applications for use of information from the IPU website, and enquiries should be addressed to press@ipu.org. Permission for use of agency photos (indicated in the photo credit) should be obtained from the agency concerned.

Personally identifiable information

The Inter-Parliamentary Union does not collect any personally identifying information from users. Through the IPU website or otherwise, personally identifiable information (such as name, postal address, email address) may be provided in order to receive email newsletters, taking part in surveys, applying for a vacancy or further information as to a particular topic. The IPU collects and store this information and uses it for the purposes for which it was submitted it. In addition, the IPU may use such information to analyze website usage, and improve website content, layout, and services. This information is not shared with any third parties for marketing or other commercial purposes.

Non-personal identification information

The Inter-Parliamentary Union may collect non-personal identification information whenever you interact with the IPU website. Non-personal identification information may include the IP address, domain name, browser type, operating system, mobile related information if you access the website using your mobile device, and information such as the site that referred you to us, the files you downloaded, the pages you visited, and the dates and times of those visits. The Inter-Parliamentary Union may use this information for improving and personalising user experience on website content, layout and services.


Opting-in to the IPU’s mailing list implies the receipt of emails that may include organisation news, or updates, etc. The Inter-Parliamentary Union may use third party service providers to administer activities on its behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys.
