Engaging with the United Nations General Assembly

In 2002, the IPU became a Permanent Observer in the United Nations General Assembly. Since then, IPU representatives have regularly addressed the sessions of the General Assembly and its subsidiary organs, as well as major United Nations conferences and high-level events. IPU distributes its official documents (such as resolutions and declarations) in the General Assembly, and so brings the views of parliaments to the United Nations community.
