| The term of the Advisory Council was extended by three years to 30 June 2016 by royal decree (Emiri Decision 70/2013) on 24 June. The statutory number of members remains 35. As was the case in the previous legislatures, the current Advisory Council does not comprise any women. The newly appointed legislature held its first session on 1 July 2013 and re-elected Mr. Mohamed Bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi as its Speaker. |
