Résolutions et rapports des Nations Unies relatifs à l'UIP

A partir de 2002, quand l'UIP a obtenu le statut d’Observateur permanent auprès de l'Assemblée générale des Nations Unies, des représentants de l'UIP ont régulièrement pris la parole aux sessions de l'Assemblée générale et de ses organes subsidiaires, ainsi que lors des grandes conférences et événements de haut niveau des Nations Unies.

Tous les deux ans, le Secrétaire général de l’ONU publie un rapport et l’Assemblée générale adopte une résolution sur l’interaction entre l’ONU, les parlements nationaux et l’UIP.

En outre, l'UIP distribue ses documents officiels (ses résolutions et déclarations) à l'Assemblée générale, ce qui lui donne la possibilité d'intégrer le point de vue parlementaire aux débats des Nations Unies.
