Jointly organized by the IPU and the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China, the 2026 Interregional Seminar on the Achievement of the SDGs will provide a select number of parliaments from developing countries with the opportunity to discuss ways to accelerate SDG implementation through parliamentary cooperation.

The programme will address pressing global issues, including artificial intelligence, climate governance and population development. Participants will engage with peers, discuss respective national practices, share lessons learned and identify opportunities to enhance collaboration to advance sustainable development for all.

The event will take place in Beijing and will be followed by a field visit organized by the NPC to examine concrete projects linked to the themes of the seminar.
