In honour of the 40^th anniversary of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and on the occasion of the 73^rd session of the Convention in July, UNITAR and the Inter-Parliamentary Union are delighted to collaborate with CEDAW in the organization of a public event, in the form of a seminar open to Geneva’s international community, titled “The CEDAW convention: 40 years of promoting and empowering women”. The event will aim to raise awareness on the work of the Committee in its efforts to ensure the eradication of inequality and bias towards women.
