Parliamentary engagement in State CEDAW reporting

Summary

Following up on the first cycle of webinars held between 2022 and 2023, and the second edition of the handbook for parliamentarians on CEDAW, this webinar aims to provide targeted support and practical guidance to strengthen parliamentary engagement within the CEDAW review process. It will also seek to assist parliaments to operationalize CEDAW General recommendation No 40 on the equal and inclusive representation of women in decision-making systems, integrating its guidance into national legislative frameworks and oversight mechanisms, in line with the plan of action outlined in the Outcome document adopted on the occasion of the IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians held in Mexico in March 2025.
