Investing in people and institutions: The role of parliamentarians in social development

The Parliamentary Forum, jointly organized by the Shura Council of the State of Qatar and the IPU, will be an official side event of the Second World Summit for Social Development, aimed at accelerating action on poverty eradication, the promotion of full employment and decent work, and social inclusion.

The event will build on the momentum of the Tashkent Declaration, adopted by IPU Member Parliaments at the 150th IPU Assembly, to emphasize the role of parliamentarians in driving transformative change and to enhance dialogue with other stakeholders.

Parliamentarians interested in attending the Parliamentary Forum are advised to seek accreditation to the Second World Summit for Social Development as part of their governmental delegations.
