On behalf of the global parliamentary community, we welcome the announcement of a deal to secure a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza.

This is a significant breakthrough towards ending the bloodshed and relieving suffering on both sides.

We urge all parties to fully commit to implementing this deal for the benefit of the people of the entire region.

The conflict has inflicted immense pain, particularly among women, children, and the elderly, who have been disproportionately affected.

We call for unhindered access for all humanitarian aid to address the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

This deal also presents a vital opportunity to advance diplomatic and political solutions, fostering long-term peace and stability in the region.

The IPU remains steadfast in its support for initiatives that promote a more hopeful future for the people of Israel and Palestine.
