Showcasing parliamentary innovations

For 2021’s virtual World e-Parliament Conference, the IPU’s Centre for Innovation in Parliament asked parliaments what digital innovations they were particularly proud of. As a result, 14 parliaments shared their innovations in what we called the Parliamentary showcase. The Parliamentary showcase is a library of video content created by parliaments themselves to highlight their good practices and offer a space for mutual learning, exchange and dialogue.

Showcase videos address a variety of areas of innovation, such as new digital tools for parliamentarians, new ways of connecting with citizens, and new practices and working methods in parliaments.

In short videos of less than 5 minutes, parliaments explained the challenges they experienced and the innovative solutions and procedures developed to respond to them. The Showcase videos lay out how the innovations were rolled out, including the time frame, stakeholders involved, challenges confronted and lessons learned.
