Regional seminar on climate change for parliaments of Latin America and the Caribbean
-
Montevideo Uruguay
Summary
The IPU and the Parliament of Uruguay are jointly organizing a regional seminar on climate change for parliaments of Latin America and the Caribbean to bring together parliamentarians for a critical inter-parliamentary dialogue to enhance climate action in the region. The seminar will provide parliaments with the opportunity to share best practices, experiences and lessons learned from their national efforts to address climate change, including through implementation of the Paris Agreement. In keeping with the Nusa Dua Declaration on mobilizing parliaments to act on climate change adopted at the 144th IPU Assembly (March 2022), this seminar also aims to promote stronger regional cooperation to encourage the development of joint parliamentary solutions to tackle the crisis.
