Summary

The World e-Parliament Conference is the leading global forum on innovation and the use of digital technologies in parliament, bringing together members of parliament, Secretaries General, and senior parliamentary staff from around the world. The 2026 conference is organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the European Parliament.

The 2026 conference has three complementary tracks:

  • Parliamentarians in a digital society, with a focus on parliamentarians’ evolving roles and needs, countering disinformation and fostering democratic trust.
  • Strategic leadership for the digital transformation of parliaments, including parliamentary autonomy over data, infrastructure, and technology, getting ready for AI, managing organisational change.
  • Technology, innovation and implementation, including digital and AI literacy, digital accessibility, data integrity, cloud adoption, cybersecurity and agile innovation methods.

Conference participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of strategic pathways and frameworks to support the parliament's digital transformation.
  • Discover good practices in accessibility, member support, AI governance and more.
  • Experience innovation in action through the Parliamentary showcase.
  • Share experiences, challenges and solutions with their peers across all levels of digital maturity.
  • Engage in a community of practice in parliamentary digital transformation.
  • Exchange views on parliamentary role and cooperation for advancing global norms. 

A pre-conference event for parliamentary staff will take place on the afternoon of 16 November.
