Nearly every country in the world has some form of parliament. Parliamentary systems fall into two categories: bicameral and unicameral. Out of 190 national parliaments in the world, 78 are bicameral (156 chambers) and 112 are unicameral, making a total of 268 chambers of parliament with some 44,000 members of parliament. This international parliamentary meeting, jointly organized by the IPU and the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco, will take place on 6 and 7 December 2018 in the Parliament building in Rabat. The event will offer an opportunity for parliamentarians to learn about the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, which will be adopted on 10 and 11 December in Marrakech, and about the specific actions and tools available to parliaments to implement the commitments contained in this document.
