The Transforming Parliaments webinar series
Since 2021, the IPU’s Centre for Innovation in Parliament (CIP), in conjunction with its thematic and regional hubs, has organized more than 20 webinars as part of the Transforming Parliaments series. These sessions explore different aspects of the digital transformation of parliaments. Themes covered have included cloud computing, open data and digital services for MPs. In recent months, there has been a strong focus on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in parliament.
A new web page on the Transforming Parliaments webinar series provides quick access to the recordings and key takeaways from these events. It also lists upcoming sessions, which are free of charge and open to all interested participants.
More details and online registration links for future webinars can be found on the respective pages below:

AI maturity framework
Following on from the June 2025 meeting of the Parliamentary Data Science Hub, the IPU is developing an AI maturity framework that is intended to provide a structured pathway for parliaments to assess their current AI capabilities and plan their development journey. The framework, which is aimed at all parliaments regardless of size, digital maturity or level of AI adoption, will help parliamentary leadership and senior ICT staff understand where their parliament is in terms of AI maturity and support them in effectively planning for the future.

Parliamentary actions on AI Policy
The IPU’s Parliamentary actions on AI policy web page documents the various AI initiatives taking place in national parliaments around the world, including legislative reviews, reports, resolutions, inquiries, working groups and policy discussions. Parliamentary actions have so far been observed in 50 countries. The information is sourced from parliaments and the page is updated every month.
